Mayurasan is a difficult asana listed in Hatha Pradipika and Gheranda Sanhita
It quickly alleviates all diseases like enlargement of the glands,
dropsy and other stomach disorders. It rectifies imbalance of the humors
(vata, pitta, kapha). It reduces to ashes all food taken indiscriminately,
kindles the gastric fire and enables destruction of kalakuta (a deadly poison)
But to be able to do this asana, one has to master the preparatory techiques and then under supervision of teacher attempt the final pose
The preparatory techniques are

Shalbhasan
Dolphin pose

यह ग्रंथि-वृद्धि, जलोदर और अन्य पेट के रोगों जैसे सभी विकारों को शीघ्र ही दूर करता है। यह वात, पित्त, कफ जैसे दोषों के असंतुलन को संतुलित करता है। यह बिना सोचे-समझे खाए गए भोजन को भस्म कर देता है, जठराग्नि को प्रज्वलित करता है और कालकूट (एक घातक विष) का नाश करने में सक्षम बनाता है।
लेकिन इस आसन को करने के लिए, पहले इसकी तैयारी संबंधी तकनीकों में दक्षता प्राप्त करनी पड़ती है, और फिर किसी शिक्षक की निगरानी में अंतिम मुद्रा का अभ्यास करना चाहिए।
